Truveta wins Health Innovation of the Year at 2022 GeekWire Awards

The first in-person GeekWire Awards in more than two years proved to be an exciting one for Truveta: we were named Health Innovation of the Year! COO Lisa Gurry accepted the award on behalf of the company.

“Truveta was formed about a year and a half ago by key health systems across the country that wanted to come together and pool their data to help advance healthcare for all of us,” Gurry said in her acceptance speech to a crowd of a few hundred Pacific Northwest-based techies and entrepreneurs. “We are sincerely honored, and we can’t wait to fulfill our vision of saving lives with data.”

The voting for GeekWire Awards is largely community-driven, and GeekWire reported that more than 16,000 votes were cast for this year’s awards, which recognized 60 finalists across 15 categories. In the Health Innovation of the Year category, Truveta was up against an impressive slate of finalists: A-Alpha Bio, Parse Biosciences, Tasso, and the University of Washington’s Institute for Protein Design.

Truveta was recognized for its work to create the most complete, highest quality U.S. public health data platform to enable researchers to find cures faster, empower every clinician to be an expert, and help families make the most informed decisions about their care.

“We are so very thrilled and excited to get this tremendous honor. Thank you GeekWire, thank you to all of you,” Gurry told the crowd. “And thank you to the tremendous Truvetans who have made this possible.”
