Terry Myerson, CEO of Truveta, was recently featured on The Big Unlock, a healthcare digital transformation podcast hosted by Paddy Padmanabhan.

Sharing Truveta’s vision is saving lives with data, Terry gave an overview of how the company got started, the breadth of datasets that the team works with to generate insights, and he offers some advice to future startup founders.

Truveta aims to help researchers find cures faster, empower every clinician to be an expert, and help families make the most informed decisions about their care.

Here’s a few highlights from Terry on the podcast:

  • “How could this not exist already. How could it not exist that we don’t have a dataset representative of the full diversity of our country that we can study?”
  • “When I got exposure to the fact that it didn’t exist, and there was a coalition of willing health systems that wanted it to exist, it just felt like the most meaningful thing I could spend the rest of my career working on.”
  • “Security and privacy are just critical. They’re foundational to the company. For full details, we have white papers — a whitepaper on security and a whitepaper on privacy — on our website, which I would encourage to anyone.”
